Expanding Job Training and Placement
​Summer Hartley will advocate for enhanced collaboration with vocational schools and community colleges to provide veterans with access to education and certification programs, ensuring they have the qualifications needed for high-paying jobs. Additionally, Dr. Hartley will advocate for creating a centralized online platform to connect veterans with job opportunities, apprenticeships, and career resources in West Virginia, streamlining the process of transitioning to civilian employment.

Improving Veteran Healthcare Access
Increasing funding for veteran healthcare facilities in West Virginia, will ensure timely access to quality medical services and reducing wait times for appointments. By expanding telehealth services to rural and underserved areas, veterans will be able to more easily to consult with healthcare providers remotely and receive essential care without the need for travel.

Many veterans experience unique challenges upon returning from service. By enhancing mental health support services for veterans, including counseling, therapy, and peer support programs, West Virginia can help veterans better overcome those challenges.

Tackling Veteran Homelessness with Housing Affordability Measures
Summer Hartley will advocate for collaboration with local housing authorities and nonprofit organizations to develop housing solutions specifically tailored to the needs of veterans, such as veteran-friendly housing developments and tiny home communities. Additionally, Dr. Hartley will advocate for more secure stable and sustainable housing options, by expanding access to financial assistance programs for veterans experiencing housing instability, including grants, loans, and housing vouchers,
